Dr. Lacretia Johnson Flash is an experienced leader, speaker, and facilitator who brings compassion, authentic connection, and habits of deep reflection to groups and audiences. Drawing on her research and practices as leader in higher education for more than twenty years, her creative work, as well as her writings from a life documented in journals since age 15, Lacretia provides space for audiences and groups to explore and grapple with questions on how to be more open, inclusive, compassionate, authentic, and socially just in their individual and collective practices. Her offerings include keynote speeches, fireside chats (interviews), panel presentations, interactive workshops, and consultations.
Coming Home: Discovering Oneself in the Family Legacy
As the great-great-grand-daughter of Amy and Tapp Craig, Lacretia reflects on the journey of learning about her family’s fascinating life and legacy. Following the death of her mother, and with the help of distant family, a team of journalists, and friendly strangers, this journey takes Lacretia to rural Tennessee on a path of discovery, healing, and transformation.

Path of Resilience: A Journey Through Shadow and Light
What began as a writing assignment from her high school English teacher, Mr. Poniatowski, has become a lifelong practice of keeping a written journal of her greatest trials and joys, as well as the details of everyday life. Drawing on these journals and the disciplines she has studied throughout her life and career – literature, developmental psychology, and the arts, Lacretia offers a path of embracing the shadow and light sides of life to find wisdom and meaning.

We Are Community : Our Stories in Beads
Based on the Life Necklace Project Lacretia started when she was an artist-in-residence in the Studio G program, this innovative workshop provides a guided opportunity for groups to create a community artifact in the form of strung handmade polymer clay beads and a compilation of the stories collected from the participants as a visual representation of the power of community.
